On November 6th, 2024, we hosted an insightful event, “Unlocking Tomorrow: Post-Quantum Cryptography and the New Era of Cybersecurity,” in partnership with MSC Trustgate.com Sdn Bhd, Thales CPL, and Venafi.
We were privileged to have renowned experts, Prof. Dr. Muhamad Rezal Bin Kamel Ariffin from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Puan Hazlin from CyberSecurity Malaysia, share their expertise on the cutting-edge advancements in post-quantum cryptography. Their discussion opened the audience’s eyes to the impact of this technology on every internet user in Malaysia, outlining a strategic approach to prepare for the impending Y2Q (Year to Quantum)
Together with our partners at Thales Cybersecurity Products and Venafi, a CyberArk Company, we explored the challenges and opportunities posed by the quantum computing era. We discussed various technologies that can be used to prepare organizations in safeguarding their digital assets in the year Y2Q.
Ivan Tan from Thales CPL: He outlined a three-pronged approach to building a future-proof quantum strategy which are;
➡ Implementing quantum-resistant algorithms
➡ Utilizing quantum random number generation (QRNG)
➡ Leveraging quantum key distribution (QKD)
In his session, he discussed on how Thales can help organizations future-proof their security infrastructure.
Wilson Yan from Venafi: He introduced a three-step framework to guide organizations through the transition to post-quantum cryptography:
➡ PQC Diagnosis: Assessing your current cryptographic infrastructure to identify areas vulnerable to quantum attacks.
➡ Migration Planning: Developing a comprehensive plan for migrating to post-quantum algorithms .
➡ Execution: Implementing the migration plan and monitoring for ongoing security.
Wilson also highlighted the role of Venafi’s Post-Quantum Landscape and Control Plane in securing machine identities and protecting against future quantum threats. By leveraging Venafi’s solutions, organizations can proactively address the challenges of the quantum era and ensure the security of their digital assets.
